EUROPEAN CENTRE FOR THE WOMEN "MARIANA PINEDA"

It was the last residence of Mariana Pineda, the famous woman from Granada who symbolizes the liberal fight in the 19th century. It hosts the City Department for the Women and a Historical Hall about this heroine.

The European Centre for the Women “Mariana de Pineda” has three aims: to honour this famous woman who has a large popular support and symbolizes the liberal fight in the 19th century; to host the City Department for the Women long demanded by women associations and to open it to the women of Granada as meeting point, studies centre, discussion and projects forum in order to unite women from different countries and launch policies to reach gender equality.
