CORRAL DEL CARBÓN

Warehouse and merchant’s hostel. It is the oldest monument left by the Arabs. The Christians used it for theatre plays. The entrance to this building is a Muslim front. Most notable is the North front divided into two levels. The lower one is a large pointed horseshoe arch dercorated with geometrical plant ornaments. On the top we can admire a freize with Kufic writings worshipping Allah. The building materials are the characteristical of the Spanish-Muslim art: brick, plaster and wood.
