GARDENS AT CARMEN DE QUINTA ALEGRE

The gardens are located at the Carmen de Quinta Alegre whose quarter, in the Avenida de Cervantes area, receives the same name.
It covers an area of 115,712 sq. ft. (10,750 m2), at the entrance it has a of orange and lemon trees. Once in, you can get to the terraces through a staircase with Granada-style cobbles on the left or follow the road to the palace on the right. The first terrace has a little vegetation dividing the lower from the upper level. The second terrace is accessable from a central staircase or through the side access that started at the entrance. Although the the most representative area in the estate is the upper garden, it is nowadays abandoned. However the is a project in process to restore the former 20th century garden.
There is a court for playing “pétanque”.
