GARDENS OF EL VIOLÓN

Located by the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones.

It follows two perpendicular lines. Paralel to the river, there is a little boulevard with palmtrees and lime trees with side gardens. This esplanade witnessed the meeting between the Arab king Boabdil and the Catholic Monarchs on January 2nd, 1492. This event is remembered by a monument inaugurated in 1997. There are "par-terres" with roses and other parfum flowers which limit a stop area with benches and surrounded by palmtrees. A path of orangetrees will guide us to the Church of San Sebastión. An area with cinnamons on cork oaks complete this garden.
