Real Conservatorio de Música Victoria Eugenia
San Jerónimo 46, 18001 Granada 958 276 866
The Real Conservatorio Superior de Música “Victoria Eugenia” of Granada is currently located in a sober and strong palace at San Jerónimo street which was formerly owned by the Marquises of Caicedo. The building in a later Renaissance style dates from the 16th century and it has a big hallway that gives access to a central courtyard and a staircase with beautiful columns and ornate floral decorations. Most notable is its stony front with main balcony that shows the coat-of-arms of the marquises, granted by King Felipe V to D. Luis Beltrán del Caicedo y Solís. It also shows two little towers with arches at each side, both decorated with glazed pottery spheres.
